HairBack ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the HairBack app ("App").

When you submit photos for hair analysis, the photos are sent over HTTPS to the following third-party AI services:
Face data: Your photos may incidentally contain your face. We do not collect, store, or use face data for any purpose other than hair analysis. We do not use face data for advertising, facial recognition, or any purpose unrelated to the App's core function. Photos are not retained on our servers after analysis is complete. All scan results and progress history are stored locally on your device only.
We ask for your explicit consent before sending any photos to these services. You may decline at any time, which will prevent AI analysis from running.
Routine data, progress history, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Processed analysis results may be stored to support your progress history. Photos sent for analysis are processed and not retained longer than necessary to deliver results, unless you have opted into features that require retention. We retain your data only as long as needed to provide the App and meet legal requirements.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only with service providers (e.g., cloud AI, analytics, payment processing) who act on our behalf under strict agreements, when required by law, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (with notice).
If you sign in with Apple, Apple's Privacy Policy also applies to your sign-in. We receive only the information you authorize Apple to share with us.
Subscription purchases are handled by Apple. We receive transaction and subscription status information to enable access to premium features. Payment details are not stored or processed by us.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at partnerships@hairback.app. You can also delete your account and data from within the App or by contacting us.
The App is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn of such collection, we will delete it promptly.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption and secure communication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your data may be processed in countries outside your residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place where required by law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email where possible. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
